Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to be an existing Linode customer?
Nope! We welcome new Linode users to join the beta as well as current customers. You can create an account here so you’re all set once the beta gets underway.
What level of experience do I need to join Green Light?
Any and all! We appreciate having a range of experience levels to give us feedback, but some familiarity with our platform, or cloud platforms in general, will help you get started.
Do I pay for the services used during betas?
We aim to keep costs as low as possible for customers during beta testing, but this depends on the cloud resources needed to support the beta. We will always disclose any payment information before the beta onboarding.
I participated in a previous beta, do I need to sign up again?
If you participated or were enrolled in in a previous Green Light beta, including Linode Kubernetes Engine and Object Storage, you will need to register for the new betas via the form below.
This ultimately helps us streamline the communications you’ll receive and initiate the back-end process to expose the feature to beta testers once live. Please select all new betas you are interested in. If you are currently a member of the Green Light Slack, your access will remain and, you’ll see the new channels appear as they are created.
What benefits do I receive for participating?
Our Green Light participants receive perks, including swag, but are otherwise not compensated. Beta programs are designed for volunteers, and there is no minimum time commitment to participate.
When do the Green Light betas begin?
Green Light has individual betas for each of the products listed at the top of the page. All of these programs will have different start and end dates, though there may be some overlap. You will be notified via email regarding the individual beta(s) close to their start date(s).
